Supporting sustainable greenhouse pilot project in Sharjah (UAE)

A company in Sharjah has developed an innovative greenhouse model that generates net energy in a desert climate instead of consuming it, providing a solution to the high energy consumption of traditional greenhouses. We help this customer translate their technical requirements into specific requests for the Dutch greenhouse construction industry. Thanks to our long-standing relationship, we assist them in specifying the technical requirements and assessing the plans and quotations received. Our approach provides customers with a clear basis for their project decisions, with the aim of starting construction of an initial pilot system to test the concept before the end of 2025.

Growing fresh fruit and vegetables in a desert climate requires a very high level of energy consumption to cool the greenhouses in which this takes place. REdouble is assisting a Sharjah-based company that has developed a smarter greenhouse model, whereby there is no net energy input into the greenhouse, but rather net energy output from it!

Thanks to its long-standing relationship with the customer, REdouble is able to translate the customer’s technical requirements into concrete requests for the Dutch greenhouse construction industry. We assist our clients in specifying requirements and evaluating plans and quotations.

The result of our personalized approach is a clear basis for the client to base their project decisions on, so that they can continue with the preparation of their pilot project. The goal is to start construction of the first pilot system before the end of 2025, which will allow the energy-saving concept to be tested in practice. The pilot system will be built in the Netherlands and will be used to test the energy-saving concept in practice.
