Wind resource advice

This service includes strategic guidance and in-depth analyses that are crucial to the success of your renewable energy project. We help you make informed decisions by advising you on where, how, when, and with which technology to measure. Our expertise extends to planning, due diligence, and data quality control, with a focus on reducing project uncertainties through risk mitigation and cost optimization. This positions REdouble not only as a technical expert, but as a strategic business partner that directly influences the results of your project through more predictable energy supplies and optimized costs.

Technical expertise & analysis

This category encompasses the core of our technical expertise, combining advanced measurements and modeling with in-depth analysis to get the most out of your project. Our integrated approach to measurements, modeling, and specific analyses such as wake modeling and offshore metocean conditions ensures an accurate and comprehensive assessment of your project’s actual energy potential and operational challenges.

We identify the most suitable locations for wind turbines and optimize their placement for maximum energy generation.

We plan, coordinate, install and maintain professional wind measurement masts and advanced LiDAR/SoDAR systems (yours or ours) and their power supplies. The same applies to floating (Floating LiDAR) systems, in collaboration with their manufacturer. We use the collected data for advanced yield calculations, wake modelling and analysis of offshore metocean conditions, which are essential for an accurate assessment of complex wind farm designs.

We will install, operate & maintain and uninstall the lidar according to the lidar manufacturer guideline and the IEC 61400.50.2 and NEN1010 where applicable. This ensures a trustworthy, well-documented measurement campaign and a high-quality data set. We hold VCA-VOL certificates (Safety certificate for contractors, for operational managers) to have proper sense of safe working practices.

We calculate the expected energy output of a wind farm based on collected wind data and advanced simulation models. These detailed assessments are crucial for financial planning, risk analysis, and optimization of wind turbine selection and layout, resulting in optimized layouts.

Project- &
program management

REdouble offers robust support for the successful execution of all your projects, from initiation to completion. This includes the initiation and coordination of both public and private research programs. We act as project brokers and industry liaisons, connecting clients with the right partners and navigating them through the complexities of the wind energy sector. We guarantee the highest standards throughout the entire life cycle of your project, from data acquisition to the final report, with a focus on quality control and data monitoring. Our strategic, facilitating role goes beyond typical project management; we accelerate project development and reduce delays by removing external barriers.

Capacity building

REdouble offers customized training courses to help your teams excel in meteorology and wind resource assessments. Offering capacity building indicates a long-term partnership, in which we not only deliver specific project results, but also invest in our clients’ human capital. This results in greater self-reliance, improved internal expertise, and a greater ability to manage future projects or data internally. Our commitment to knowledge sharing and the broader growth of the renewable energy sector promotes deeper, more sustainable customer relationships.

Knowledge sharing & standardization

REdouble actively contributes to the international renewable energy community and academia. We are committed to sharing insights and expertise, with examples including contributions to WindEurope, joint publications with KNMI, lectures, and workshops. In addition, we focus on improving work processes and wind measurement plans based on extensive ISO9001 and practical experience. Our dual role as practitioners and contributors to academic/standardization efforts means that our advice and methodologies are not only advanced, but also define the highest industry benchmarks. This reduces your project risk and ensures future-proof solutions, positioning REdouble as a thought leader and a trusted authority (read: acceptance of our contribution to your project guaranteed).
